Kearney and Gibson enjoy UK visit

Brandan Kearney and Percy Gibson spent the weekend on an unofficial visit to the University of Kentucky.  The Detroit Southeastern dynamic duo arrived in Lexington Saturday and took a visit around the Wildcat facilities and campus.  Even though it wasn’t the highlight of the trip, Kearney and Gibson attended the football game to watch #1 Florida blast the Wildcats 41-7.  Kearney and Gibson also spent time with the UK players most notably freshman John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins.

Kearney and Gibson finished the trip with an hour long meeting with Coach Calipari.  “He pretty much just told us how we would fit in his offense and the success he has had with players that fit our mold,” states Kearney.

Added Gibson, “He’s a great coach and he’s a proven winner.  He knows how to win and told me how he has always won with players like me in the past.  The football game could have been better though.  I could see myself playing for a school like Kentucky”.

Coach Calipari and assistants Orlando Antigua and Rod Strickland will now spend some time at Detroit Southeastern in the following weeks to watch Kearney and Gibson during open gyms.
