Video Chat: Lee Bailey, Country Day

Varsity sports are nothing new to Lee Bailey.  The Country Day standout spent his sophomore year contributing to both the Yellowjacket’s football and basketball squads.

But this year his role has increased tremendously and his contribution is key to the success of the Yellowjackets.

After a successful season in football, where Bailey was the team’s feature back and shut down corner, Bailey has kept it going on the hardwood.  The 6-0 point guard helped deliver an 80-64 win over Detroit Southeastern.  Bailey was instrumental in setting up his team’s top two scorers Amir Williams and Ray McCallum.  Bailey was even more effective defensively who he limited some dangerous shooters on the Southeastern roster.

At 14-1 on the season, Bailey and his team has made it no secret that they are determined to get back to the Breslin Center and reach their ultimate goal of winning a state title.

NGS caught up with Bailey after the win over Southeastern where the junior standout spoke about his team’s win, the goals for the rest of the season, and what he plans to do in the off season to better his skills.
